On the 25th March, I was proud to be given the opportunity to walk in the march that takes place every year at Saheti School. This day is to celebrate the day of Independence for Greece and it one of the biggest celebrations for Greeks worldwide. As a past Saheti pupil, I was very grateful to be walking on their fields, along with current Saheti students, as well as the Nahysosa president, but this time as a Saheti Alumni, a university student and also as a new member of Nahysosa.
It was a beautiful day where we held our flags up high as proud Hellenes. After the march we enjoyed the delicious souvla being served for lunch as well as loukoumades for dessert. We then watched the amazing Greek dances performed by the Mary Vassiliou Dance Group, which I have recently joined too. It was amazing to see with how much pride my friends danced and how good they all were. After the entertainment, there were many stalls selling an assortment of things such as jewelry and toys for the younger children.
It was a great day, one which reminded us all how proud we should be to be Hellenes and how far we have come.
